Raise The PH

Mites Thrive in an Acidic Terrain

If you have ectoparasites (like scabies, Demodex, or other skin mites), raising or balancing your internal pH and protecting your skin’s surface pH can make the environment less favorable for them while boosting your skin’s immunity and healing ability.

With ectoparasites, you’re balancing two goals:

  1. Internally — support slightly alkaline systemic pH (~7.35–7.45) to strengthen immune defense and detox.
  2. Externally — maintain a slightly acidic skin pH (~4.5–5.5) to discourage mite overgrowth and support the acid mantle.

1. Internal pH Support

(Similar to endoparasite strategies but with more skin-specific nutrient focus)

  • Mineralized water — spring or filtered water with trace minerals (magnesium, potassium, calcium).
  • Alkalizing vegetables — spinach, kale, parsley, cucumber, celery, zucchini.
  • Chlorophyll-rich foods — wheatgrass, barley grass, chlorella, spirulina.
  • Reduce acid-forming foods — refined sugar, white flour, excess coffee, processed meats.
  • Supplements:

    • Fulvic acid — breaks down biofilm & delivers minerals.
    • Magnesium citrate/glycinate — helps regulate systemic pH and calm inflammation.
    • Vitamin C — supports collagen and immune response.

2. Skin Surface pH Protection

  • Avoid high-pH soaps — except during mite-kill treatments (like sulfur), then re-acidify afterward.
  • Acidic rinses post-wash:

    • Diluted apple cider vinegar (1 tsp in ½ cup water)
    • Aloe vera gel (naturally ~pH 5)
  • Barrier-supporting moisturizers — ceramide creams, squalane, jojoba oil.
  • Avoid over-washing — keeps acid mantle intact.

3. Drainage & Detox

Ectoparasites leave behind waste that acidifies tissues.

  • Daily bowel movements — fiber from chia, flax, psyllium.
  • Hydration — at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
  • Lymph movement — dry brushing, rebounding, gentle massage.
  • Binders — charcoal, zeolite, or bentonite clay on mite-kill days to grab released toxins.

4. Anti-Inflammatory Diet

  • Turmeric, ginger, and omega-3 fatty acids (flax, chia, wild fish) reduce inflammation that can disrupt pH balance.
  • Green leafy vegetables alkalize while also feeding skin with vitamin K and antioxidants.

Key insight:

For ectoparasites, you’re working both inside and outside: alkaline inside for immune strength, acidic skin surface for mite resistance.

This dual approach makes your skin less inviting while speeding up recovery and lowering reinfestation risk.

Internal vs. External pH

Chlorella, spirulina, and fulvic acid all help support a healthier internal pH by reducing acid load, delivering minerals, and improving detox — but they do it in slightly different ways.

1. Chlorella

  • Alkalizing minerals — rich in magnesium, potassium, and calcium, which help buffer acids in the blood and tissues.
  • Chlorophyll content — gives chlorella a strong alkalizing effect while aiding oxygenation.
  • Detox support — binds heavy metals and acidic waste, reducing the metabolic acid burden.
  • Result: Reduces acidity caused by toxins and supports stable, slightly alkaline pH.

2. Spirulina

  • Protein + minerals combo — high in plant-based protein and alkalizing minerals, preventing muscle breakdown (which releases acids) during illness or detox.
  • Anti-inflammatory effect — lowers inflammation-driven acidity.
  • Chlorophyll & phycocyanin — improve oxygen transport and act as antioxidants, which counter oxidative acid formation.
  • Result: Creates a less acidic terrain while improving cellular energy.

3. Fulvic Acid

  • Mineral delivery system — transports trace minerals directly into cells, helping maintain electrolyte and pH balance.
  • Biofilm breaker — disrupts microbial shields that trap acidic waste.
  • Chelation & waste removal — binds acidic toxins and metabolic byproducts for excretion.
  • Enzyme activation — supports alkaline-producing metabolic reactions.
  • Result: Frees the body from acid-producing waste and replenishes alkaline minerals.

Why They Work Well Together

  • Chlorella & spirulina replenish alkalizing nutrients and oxygenate tissues.
  • Fulvic acid helps deliver those minerals more efficiently while clearing out acidic waste and biofilm.
  • Together, they shift the internal terrain toward slightly alkaline, improving immune efficiency and making it harder for parasites and mites to thrive.
